Well-respected imprint Domino Records has a thing for dream pop these days, it seems. Not too long ago, the label announced it would be linking up with the gauzy Long Island outfit Twin Sister, and now it has unveiled yet another band of shimmery songwriters it will be working with: Ridgewood, NJ boys Real Estate.
A press release confirms that the troupe have put ink to paper with Domino for a worldwide deal , beginning with the October 2011 release of their upcoming sophomore effort. The deal doesn't just pertain to Real Estate, though. While it's unclear how many records are owed to Domino, all of the members' side-projects have been roped into the roster as well. This includes guitarist Matthew Mondanile's hazy sojourn, Ducktails, as well as bassist Alex Bleeker's psych-infused country bar band Alex Bleeker & the Freaks.
While no more details have been shed about Real Estate's next jangly record, the proper follow-up to their much-loved self-titled debut is said to "in the final stages of completion."
In the meantime, the band will be hitting this road for a number of tour dates, including stops in Toronto and Montreal. They'll be touring with smooth, ukulele-toting Dent May for most dates. Check out the details below.
