RBMA's 'Diggin' in the Carts' - Ep. 1 (ft. Havoc, J-Rocc, Kode9, Thundercat)
As previously reported, the legacy and enduring influence of Japanese videogame music is being explored with the Red Bull Music Academy's new documentary series Diggin' in the Carts and now the first of six instalments has emerged.

This segment is 15 minutes long, and it includes interviews with arcade game maker Namco's Junko Ozawa, and Nintendo's Hirokazu "Hip" Tanaka (Metroid, Tetris), along with musicians like Mobb Deep's Havoc, J-Rocc, Kode9, Thundercat and Anamanaguchi. It examines the earliest videogame sounds as heard in Pong, Space Invaders and Pac-Man, and how this involved into more elaborate game soundtracks.
