For better or worse, Fox Searchlight is in talks to develop a Ramones biopic. The film, which has been a long time coming, would tell the Ramones' story and be soundtracked by their music.
According to ABC News, the film would be based on the book I Slept With Joey Ramone, which was written by Joey Ramone's brother Mickey Leigh, with help from punk writer Legs McNeil. The movie was already being developed by manager/producer Rory Rosegarten but will receive higher production value thanks to Fox's contribution.
Simon and Schuster offshoot Fireside will publish the memoir "I Slept With Joey Ramone" this December.
So far there's no hint of when this Ramones biopic could be hitting theatres.
