Since Public Image Ltd. went on hiatus back in 1992, legendary front-man John Lydon has spent his time getting into brawls, appearing on tacky reality television shows and promoting Country Life butter.
Given this reprehensible track record, fans breathed a sigh of relief when Lydon reformed his post-Sex Pistols project, Public Image Ltd., last year, performing a series of shows in the UK in December.
These shows were apparently a success, as Lydon and co. have now agreed to a full-blown reunion tour across Canada and the U.S. The 17-date outing will take the group across North America this spring, including two Canadian dates in Toronto and Montreal. The jaunt will begin in Indio, CA with an appearance at Coachella Music Festival.
The line-up on the tour will be the same incarnation of PiL that appeared in 2009, with Lydon joined by former members Lu Edmonds (guitar) and Bruce Smith (drums), as well as newcomer Scott Firth (bass). Yep, no Jah Wobble, folks.
Cash grab? Probably, but anything is better than Lydon's wacky public persona from recent years, so let's be grateful for whatever we can get.
