Nearly two years removed from the breakup of Prince Rama, the group's Taraka Larson has announced her debut solo album. As Taraka, the artist will share Welcome to Paradise Lost on October 8 through her own Rage Peace label.

Welcome to Paradise Lost is said to be a departure from the dance-pop of Prince Rama, as Taraka blends punk, grunge and psych to create the 14-track "primal, electrifying, dirty and unapologetically life-affirming celebration of ennui and disillusion."

First single "Psychocastle" arrives today alongside a video directed by Matthew Hoffman. Taraka shared the following of her latest:

Ever try to escape your bedroom, but feel like you're still asleep? Ever try to wake up, but find yourself back in the dream?  Ever try to take off your mask, but another one pops up beneath it? Ever try to consult your inner self, but inside your skin is merely a rotting corpse? Ever feel like every path you take is just another mobius strip leading you back to where you first began? Congratulations, welcome to the Psychocastle.

Prince Rama — which was led by Taraka and her sister Nimai Larson — shared EP Rage in Peace upon sharing news of their breakup in 2019. The band's final full-length album was 2016's Xtreme Now.
