Pop Montreal has been a highlight of Quebec music calendar ever since its inception in 2002, and the annual festival is now celebrating its tenth instalment. This year's event will take place over five days from September 21 to 25, and the organizers are teasing this year's event with an initial batch of confirmed performers.

Approximately 300 bands will appear this year at Pop Montreal, and so far the festival announced that the likes of Chromeo, tUnE-yArDs, Japandroids, Asobi Seksu, the Raincoats and Redd Kross will play the event. You can see all the confirmed performers announced so far below.

The hilariously informal press release says, "Let's get ready to rawk a 10th anniversary party like the world ended while the sun kept shining and everybody could eat tacos till 5am. WOOHOO!"

In addition to the music program, the festival will also include segments called Film Pop, Art Pop, Puces Pop (a craft fair), Kids Pop and more.

The locations have not yet been confirmed, but as usual, you can expect Pop Montreal to take over dozens of venues across the city. As for tickets, passes will go on sale starting Thursday (June 2).

Although full information has not yet been posted on the festival's website, the press release reveals that "Prices and packages start at $250+ tx (early bird special)."
