Theres bad news from A Place to Bury Strangers today their tours gone up in smoke, literally. While driving through the Arizona desert on Sunday (October 5), the band noticed other drivers frantically trying to flag them down, then they noticed smoke and then finally, fire. The group were on their way from L.A. to Tucson, AZ, when their RVs transmission gave up the ghost, started leaking and eventually burst into flames, forcing them to cancel their shows in Tucson and Salt Lake City.
On the plus side, some of those people trying to grab their attention on the highway were firemen, who soon doused the RV fire before it would cause substantial damage. Also, the margaritas and Mexican food in Glendale, AZ where theyre now stranded are reportedly excellent.
Tour-mates Sian Alice Group will still play the Salt Lake City show tonight (October 7), but it looks like A Place to Bury Strangers wont be able to join them until Wednesday in Denver.
