Pirate Love

At the Musebox showcase at the El Mocambo, the evening's most entertaining set came from Pirate Love, who made their Canadian debut. The Norwegian sextet's sound ranged from trashy garage romps like "Sick Of You" through guitar duels, Chuck Berry riffs, and other tunes with a Nick Cave/Gun Club feel. The singer's witty between-song banter was a nice bonus.
