Daniel Lopatin has released a remix of Philip Glass's 1982 Koyaanisqatsi soundtrack under his Oneohtrix Point Never moniker. Interestingly, though, the track won't be making an appearance on the record it was intended to be a part of.
Recorded for a Beck-produced remix compilation paying tribute to Glass, Beck apparently rejected the tune. Lopatin defends his reworking, saying, "I thought I'd done a really good remix. I was pretty stoked, I thought that I'd done something worthwhile and they were flat out like, 'No, this is not good enough.'"
Nevertheless, you can hear the new version of Koyaanisqatsi in the player below (around the 30-minute mark), and listen to an interview with Lopatin following the remix.
