Turning up the swamp rock volume to tree-shaking levels, this three-piece from Olympia, WA show a talent for crafting jagged tunes. The groups debut full-length, Fuel on Fire, features ex-Excuse 17 drummer Curtis James behind the kit and the band makes good use of his propulsive time-keeping. While Craig Extines voice frequently echoes the warbling of Jack White, the Old Haunts convey an ability to merge together multiple influences to form their own gripping sound. Borrowing from the strut of Creedence Clearwater Revival and the stomp of the Chrome Cranks, the group mine a wealth of material to fashion a combustible sound on Fuel On Fire.
