Obongjayar has built a following with last year's Which Way is Forward? EP and feature spots alongside Danny Brown, Little Simz, Pa Salieu and more. Ahead of detailing his debut album, the Nigerian-born, London-based musician has dropped off a first single.
"Message in a Hammer," in Obongjayar's own words, is a song "about fight, and fighting against the powers that take and steal and rob from us, and calling them by their name — thieves and murderers."
The driving single arrives today alongside a video directed by Rollo Jackson, in which Obongjayar plays a limo driver on the road to revenge.
"Message in a Hammer" is the first single to arrive from Obongjayar's forthcoming debut album, which has yet to receive a title or release date.
