This year's NXNE has already announced a heap of stellar performers for 2013, but the lineup for the annual Toronto event just keeps on getting bigger. The organizers have confirmed yet more acts who will be performing at the 19th edition of the festival, which runs from June 10 to 16.
The bill has now been expanded to include Dan Deacon, No Joy, Braids, Gold & Youth, Blue Hawaii, Wintersleep, Dusted, Ryan Hemsworth, Odonis Odonis, July Talk, Tonstartssbandht, St. Lucia, Shannon and the Clams, Still Corners, Villagers, Big Black Delta, Valleys, Bear Mountain, Dope Body, Fat Tony and many more.
See the insanely huge list over at NXNE's website.
The newly announced acts join previously confirmed performers like the National, Big Boi, FLAG, Social Distortion, Fucked Up, Iceage, Calexico, Joey Bada$$, Coeur de Pirate, Why? and White Lung. There's also that promising-looking independent label market.
As for the film portion, it will include the world premiere of FILMAGE: The Story of DESCENDENTS/ALL (see a trailer below), the tour diary The Rolling Stones — Charlie Is My Darling — Ireland 1965, the National's Mistaken for Strangers, the theatrical debut of the music video for the Flaming Lips' "Silver Trembling Hands," and the world premiere of the tour film Authentic: Young Rival's Journey Through Canada.
There will also be various comedy performers, while NXNE's Interactive program includes a panel called "Women in Music: More Than Ever Before" featuring No Joy and Melissa Auf der Maur.
