Montreal's own blonde-girl-grunge-throwback outfit No Joy played songs from their 2010 debut Ghost Blonde to, unfortunately, a rather small crowd at Église Saint-Édouard. Though the band played a solid, high-energy set, the volume was too loud and the sound inadequately mixed for the cavernous yet half-empty room, driving some spectators far back from the stage and making it difficult to actually hear what was being played. Had the people who poured in at the end of their set to see headliner Fucked Up arrived earlier -- and had the sound engineer been better equipped to do No Joy's layered aesthetic justice -- this could have been a much more successful Pop performance.
