No Age

Canadian Music Week Toronto ON, March 5 to 8

BY Cam LindsayPublished Mar 21, 2008

Playing their first-ever Toronto show, Los Angeles avant punks No Age brought their two-man wrecking crew to assist with one of the week’s most talked about gigs. Demonstrating the blissful cacophony of last year’s cherished debut, Weirdo Rippers, and previewing their forthcoming sophomore effort, Nouns, Randy Randall and Dean Spunt mixed plenty of mockery in with their unique lo-fi assault. Spunt’s kit’n’vocals combo provided the perfect thrashing backdrop for Randall to let go and riff away on. Sometimes going off into white noise tangents heavy on the fuzz, the two dudes ensured their Toronto-based legacy was guaranteed and that demand won’t rest till they get their asses back here as headliners.
