Having reunited with Crazy Horse for Americana earlier this year, Neil Young previously revealed plans to release another new album with his famed backing band. As promised, Neil Young & Crazy Horse have now detailed the forthcoming Psychedelic Pill.
The double-CD version will drop on October 30 via Reprise Records, while the triple-vinyl version will follow on November 23. The band will subsequently film a video for each track (as they did for Americana), with a Blu-ray release to follow sometime in the future.
The album contains just eight songs, several of which are lengthy epics. Most notably, opening track "Driftin' Back" clocks in at over 27 minutes, while both "Ramada Inn" and "Walk Like a Giant" are over 16 minutes long. We're guessing this means we'll be hearing plenty of the band's signature guitar jams.
Additionally, Psychedelic Pill's appropriately cosmic album cover is above. Far out, man.
As previously announced, Neil Young & Crazy Horse will hit the road this fall for a North American tour that includes shows with Los Lobos and Patti Smith, respectively. See the schedule below.
