Nasio

Living in the Positive

Reggae music inna Dominican stylee. Nasio's vibes are a rare treat as reggae music has so often been the property of Jamaican, British and North American bands. This Dominican's take on the genre is sensemilla sweet keeping close to traditional grooves and vintage sounds. Nasio's band is reminiscent of the Wailer's circa the Uprising and Confrontation eras (the lead guitarist is a ringer for Al Anderson) and his vocals reveal that he has spent quality time with the Tuff Gong's records. The only criticism here is that Marley seems to be the prominent inspiration, leaving most songs sounding like good imitations rather than original creations.
