Buying a pass to this year's Sled Island will give you the opportunity to check out dozens upon dozens of incredible artists, but the good people at Mint Records are throwing a party during the fest that will let you see their roster pro bono.
The Vancouver label will be hosting their Mint Records Day Party at Calgary's Commonwealth venue on June 20, with the afternoon bash being headlined by BC pop prince Jay Arner. Also playing the show will be garage rock crew Tough Age, Edmonton's Renny Wilson and Super Moon (formerly known as Movieland). While each outfit will be playing other gigs during Sled Island, this will be the only time they all team up to rep the record label.
As for the rest of the festival, other acts playing this year include Spiritualized, St. Vincent, Rocket From the Crypt, Dan Deacon, AraabMuzik, Oneohtrix Point Never, Rhye, Killer Mike, Mission of Burma, White Lung, Bob Mould and more.
Sadly, it was recently revealed that guest curator Kathleen Hanna will not be able to make it out to the festival due to a relapse in her battle with Lyme disease.
