Seriously, when the hell is METZ going to release that debut album? After a rousing but sun-soaked set at Yonge and Dundas Square, the Toronto trio hit their stride in the dark cavern of Sneaky Dee's. This is the way METZ is meant to be seen: singer Alex Edkins's guitar filling the room from wall to wall, his gruff voice all the more vicious without the wind stealing it away. It's hard to pick a set highlight; the band's engaging set was punctuated by new song "Wet Blanket" and closer "Negative Space," but in the dark, and to an audience there exclusively for them and showing their affection in the form of a joyous mosh pit, every song was worth its weight in gold, not to mention sweat.
