Men of Porn

Porn American Style

BY Kevin Stewart-PankoPublished Mar 1, 2000

Let's quash your first thought right away: there is not a single "chukka-chukka" '70s porno flick riff to be found on this disc. And the only exploitation going on is not of recent high school graduates from Indiana, but of Black Sabbath's back catalogue, tempered through a haze of reefer smoke. This outfit features ex-members of Ritual Device, Helios Creed, Swans and Acid King - a pretty accurate an indicator of what this band sounds like. These 12 songs attempt to put a different spin on the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll themes while using influences like the jamming drone of Sleep, the wiggly groove of Core, Kyuss's solid stomp and Sabbath-like ravaging of the blues scale.
