Anyone underwhelmed by Memoryhouse's rather dull appearance during Canadian Music Week should really give the Toronto group another chance. That appearance marked their first as a full band, but they had yet to master the dynamics of their impressive recorded output. Now a five-piece, the group are on top of their game, mixing soaring vocals and crashing guitars overtop of their slow-moving tunes. If their short set, which was delayed by sound problems, is any indication, their forthcoming Sub Pop debut will mostly abandon the electronic elements that marked their early work. But Memoryhouse's live show clearly shows that the emotional and dynamic range of their new songs necessitate a more human approach.
