Melvins Announce The Bride Screamed Murder

BY Greg PrattPublished Mar 10, 2010

Trailblazing noisemongers/troublemakers/sludge rock heroes Melvins have announced a June 1 release date for their latest record, The Bride Screamed Murder. The album will be on Ipecac Records, where the band have found a good, stable and suitably offbeat home.

This album is the third with the band's expanded line-up, which features the dudes from noise rockers Big Business as Melvins' rhythm section (even though Melvins already have a drummer, so, yes, their drummer count is still at two). Melvins' last album was 2008's Nude with Boots.

The band, which recently celebrated their 25th anniversary, will be playing Calgary's Sled Island 2010 on July 2 and 3. Their only other confirmed Canadian date is in Vancouver, on July 5, at the Rickshaw Theatre.

The guys will also be hitting up the Bonnaroo Festival on June 12 in the midst of an U.S. tour, full dates of which can be found here. (American fans are stoked, as tour fellows include weirdo San Fran rockers Totimoshi and, for a smattering of dates, including Bonnaroo, fellow Ipecac forward-thinkers/attention-span-killers Isis).
