Matthew E. White has already told us that "Rock & Roll Is Cold," so it's lucky that he's all bundled up in his new video for the track from Fresh Blood.
The peppy, acoustic soul-inflected number shows the singer walking through some dramatic high-elevation terrain while wearing a knee-length coat. Eventually, he ends up a gas station, where he nabs a traveller's van — and his female companion — and makes his way to a fancy house for a private dinner party with an elaborate spread.
In a statement, White explained that the video was made with a team from Salt Lake City, UT, and the dinner scene was shot at his aunt's house. "This video was about highlighting and making use of pre-existing beauty and grandeur," the songwriter said. "The images I wanted were John Ford's America — part Badlands, part Bonnie and Clyde." It was directed by Kevin Bennett.
Fresh Blood is out on March 10 on Domino.
