A masked band with phoney names playing heavy music? No, it isn't Slipknot or some other cheesy nu metal wankers, although you can likely assume that they may have stolen at least part of their act from San Jose's Drunk Injuns. These skate rockers rose from the ashes of another skate rock act, Los Olvidados, and their sound has a darker edge to it that is more akin to the sludgy drone of bands like Flipper, although they still play a few speedy hardcore numbers. The songs have the doom and gloom, anti-authoritarian element that fits in well with living under Reagan in the early '80s, with titles like "Mental Holocaust," "Question Authority" and "Bad Kid." Also included are two post-Injuns songs by a slightly different line-up called Ancestors: Gods of Sound.
