Regrettably, the next album from Diplo's Major Lazer has been pushed from its earlier reported street date of November 6 to February 19, but at least another new video from Free the Universe has been revealed to whet fans' appetites until next year. You can check out the reggae-sampling, dance hybrid "Jah No Partial," which features guest work from Flux Pavilion, in the video down below.
The song samples the rocksteady beat of Johnny Osbourne's "Mr Marshall" and preserves most of the original's pacing in the intro, but eventually the track cascades into a swirling mix of distorted synth stabs, oscillated electronic tinkles and a crushing beat. As for the visuals, you get to check out a chrome-plated version of the act's gun-armed mascot (Major Lazer, if you will) get put together in some sort of space factory.
If all goes according to plan, Free the Universe will arrive next year via Mad Decent/Downtown.
