Maggie Rogers is a rock star now, and she's got the platinum blonde bob to prove it: the singer-songwriter is back and wigging out with new single "Want Want," which likewise bangs.
Brooding with full-bodied bass frequencies, it comes ahead of her forthcoming long-awaited sophomore album Surrender, from which she shared lead single "That's Where I Am" back in April.
Co-produced by Kid Harpoon and Del Water Gap (Sam Holden Jaffe, Rogers' former bandmate), the song features a roaring synth that the artist likens to the intro of "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath; "The right amount of bite that still invites you in."
"This song is about sex," Rogers added of the new track in her email newsletter. "These days I see feral joy as an act of rebellion. As a sensual assertion that says, 'I'm alive.'"
