The Luyas

Remember this band next time you play six degrees of Arcade Fire - their occasional French horn player Pietro Amato (also of Torngat and Arcade Fire spin-off Bell Orchestre) is an integral part of the Luyas, providing a bit of classical convention and gravitas in an otherwise outré outfit. (Bonus points: drummer Stef Schneider is also a member of Bell Orchestre.) With Jessie Stein's childlike vocals, grim lyrics and zither, the Luyas delivered casually dissonant keys and strings and unpredictable percussion, which is all juxtaposed to equally delightful and confounding ends.
