Lost Kidz

Don't listen to this CD while walking alone at night. Sherbrooke's metal-hardcore heroes Lost Kidz have just released one of the more thoughtfully produced and packaged independent records this year. Equipped with a sophisticated DIY-style CD booklet and a recording with distortion levels measured in angst, Lost Kidz are a awesome mix of street punk and brutish metal. The songs are written in French, but the lyrics are lost in the constant furious screams in each song. Original, freaky voice samples are looped over a couple songs on this five-song disc that add a certain touch of old '70s metal. Not exactly songs to fall asleep to, but nonetheless a great listen.
