Ministry of Sound and Tonka Sound System warehouse alumni Harvey Bassett releases an album of seven originals and four remixes on Uruguay's International Feel. According to Resident Advisor, he's put nothing on wax since the '90s; nonetheless, DJ Harvey has been confidently touring world blocks since then, having stage-dived his way across Japan last year. Using the name Locussolus, DJ Harvey delivers a cosmic, 604-inspired house sound on this record, verging into zones of the best kinds of weirdness. "Gunship" brings upbeat space travel beats and wailing guitars with a crystal-y ticking time bomb fading in and out. Also, a remix of this song appears by Andrew Weatherall, with eccentric lyrics about his love for larger ladies. Lindstrom and Prins Thomas's remix of "I Want It" would light up any room, with its funky disco vibe, which includes a digital horn solo to the tune of "Venus" by Bananarama and hyped up vocals ("You got it/I got it, you love it/I love it"). Sounds like summer.
