Lizzo Starts "Rumors" by Teasing Her Comeback

The forthcoming single is her first new music in two years

Never one to evade the truth, Lizzo's tired of keeping this under wraps: the platinum-selling superstar has announced that she'll be releasing a new single titled "Rumors" on August 13.

Yesterday (August 2), Lizzo took to Instagram to proclaim the dawn of her new era. While it's not a Fleetwood Mac covers album, "Rumors" is sure to be worth the two-year wait for new music.

In her dormancy, the singer hasn't left us feeling much of an absence, since her slew of exuberant, smash-hit empowerment singles like "Truth Hurts," "Juice," and "Good as Hell" have still been dominating radio waves and selfie captions since their release over two years ago.

"Rumors" will mark Lizzo's first solo single since her 2019 major label debut album Cuz I Love You, which landed on Exclaim!'s 10 Best Soul, Funk and World Albums of the year.
