Liars could have been a one album wonder. Their debut, They Threw Us All in a Trench and Stuck a Monument On Top, along with lead singer Angus Andrew's relationship with Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O quickly got the band lumped into the New York dance punk scene. Fortunately, the band abandoned their original sound and began experimenting, eventually decamping to Berlin where they laid down noise masterpiece Drum's Not Dead.
The trio are set to return with new album Sisterworld which will be out in "early 2010." The band haven't offered up any full tracks yet. But they've set up a new website they're streaming three short videos each accompanied by what we can only assume are snippets from the album. The audio for all three vids points to a sound that's more ambient than the cacophonous drone of album's past. Of course, this being the Liars, who knows what Sisterworld could have in store for us.
