Let Me Run

Meet Me at the Bottom

BY Sam SutherlandPublished Jan 20, 2009

There's nothing groundbreaking about the full-length debut from these Jersey natives but if you've got room in your CD collection for another solid band that kind of sounds like Hot Water Music, Let Me Run are worth checking out. Striking a similar chord to labelmates and hometown heroes the Gaslight Anthem, the band's songwriting carries a similarly mid-tempo approach to driving punk rock but replaces the '50s rock'n'roll leanings with a level of production slickness that will either engage or alienate. In that way, Let Me Run sound as ready to play a New Brunswick basement as an open for Fall Out Boy, which could totally be awesome if you're into that.
