Toronto-via-Calgary post-hardcore outfit La Luna had lined up a North American tour for May and June, only to cancel the run not long after it began. Now, the group have announced they are actually calling it quits following abuse allegations against bassist Alex Kurth.

In a statement shared through their Facebook page, the band explained that prior to the tour, an individual came forward with allegations against Kurth. This led to the band cancelling the run of dates and remaining apart from one another for two months. The remaining band members have elected to end the project as a result.

"After digesting the news, we decided it would be best to cancel the tour all together," the statement reads. "While we were separated, Alex chose to step back from La Luna as part of an accountability process. This is something he is taking seriously and we believe he is doing everything he can to be accountable."

The statement continued, "We stand against any physical, sexual or mental abuse of any kind. We stand for the ideals of transformative justice and making better and stronger communities."

La Luna delivered their sophomore LP Always Already last year through Middle-Man Records. Read the band's statement below.
