The Kills have a hell of a lot of style, and there's little doubt that the garage rock twosome of Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince have some of the coolest promo photos around. It's only fitting, then, that the goth-chic duo will be getting their very own photo book.
The book is being released via Domino Records. It's called Dream & Drive and it will be available August 16. This will celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Kills, who put out their debut Black Rooster EP in 2002.
The pictures were taken by the Kills' friend and photographer Kenneth Cappello, who has been close with the band since 2003. The photos were chosen out of more than 600 rolls of film.
According to a press release, "It documents over nine years of the band's career and captures Alison and Jamie in their most playful, private, intense and intimate moments, both onstage and off as they conquer the world city at a time."
The book will include a forward by singer Mosshart. She said in a statement, "These are photos of locomotion. Silent visions of things turned up past their load. The tremble of the nightclub, the dive of backstage temporaries, electricity flung like paint through space, the FACE, the posture, the vehicle that hounds the road, sweats. I know when we're looking straight on, we're looking straight through. And I suppose it's the drift and swing, that shows you who you are, and that music is a force and really is, all it's cracked up to be. These photos make me remember everything."
If you're sufficiently intrigued, pre-order a copy of Dream & Drive right here.
The Kills previously promised that they would release a concert film in 2012, but there's no word as to when that will be on shelves.
