This week's episode of Exclaim TV!'s In the Mix features Vancouver born DJ Kid Koala.
During his stop at Toronto club the Hoxton, Exclaim! chatted with Kid Koala (AKA Eric San) about his "Vinyl Vaudeville Tour," on which he refashions old school style to give his audience what the tour posters promise to be "a one of a kind spectacle," featuring dancing girls, puppets, and robots. San stresses the importance of not getting lazy, and the importance of putting on shows, like the Vaudeville Tour, that test artists. He also talks about how changing technology affects his work and about repurposing turntables.
At the end of February, Kid Koala starts his European "Vinyl Vaudeville 2.0 Tour" which has been dubbed "the silliest show ever" with the same dancing girls and even more turntables.
Kid Koala's 12-bit Blues is out now via Ninja Tune.
