John Carpenter Re-records 'Halloween' and 'Escape from New York' Themes for New Release

Synth master John Carpenter just dropped a new album's worth of tunes as Lost Themes II, but he's apparently dusted off some classic tracks for an upcoming 12-inch single too.As Modern Vinyl points out, a retail listing through Bullmoose details a forthcoming 12-inch featuring reworked versions of Carpenter's classic themes for Halloween and Escape from New York. These were prepped with his current Lost Themes backup band of Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies.
Though it hasn't officially been confirmed by the artist or his label, Sacred Bones, the record is purportedly being released on June 17.
A write-up for the 12-inch notes that these re-recorded themes "serve as a bridge between the Horror Master's legendary, still relevant past and his remarkable present." While the new studio versions have yet to be revealed, you'll find both originals down below.
As previously reported, Lost Themes II was issued earlier this month. In May, Carpenter will start his first-ever world tour. You'll find the dates below as well.
