While Jenny Lewis made headlines recently via the announcement that her old band Rilo Kiley are prepping a rarities set, the singer-songwriter has even more previously unheard performances being launched this spring. The musician has revealed that she appears on bonus cuts added to reunited electro-pop duo the Postal Service's upcoming reissue of Give Up.
Last night (February 6), Lewis held a free-for-all Q&A session over Rilo Kiley's Twitter account and shed some light on previously unreleased Postal Service tracks "Turn Around" and "A Tattered Line of String." When asked by a fan if she appears on either track, Lewis responded in the affirmative. Lewis had also lent back-up vocals to the original version of Give Up.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Lewis would be part of the Postal Service's backing band for their U.S. and European tour dates. On top of founders Jimmy Tamborello and Ben Gibbard, the live lineup also includes Mynabirds/Georgie James' Laura Burhenn.
"Super psyched for the PS reunion tour... i love ben and jimmy," Lewis tweeted of the upcoming dates. You can see the schedule over here.
Meanwhile, Lewis noted in the Q&A that Rilo Kiley would not be playing any shows in support of the upcoming Rkives collection. Regardless, the band's B-sides, demos and rarities set arrives April 2 via Little Record Company.
