Last Friday (November 12), hip-hop magnate Jay-Z held a big bash in an NYC club to celebrate upcoming MC Jay Electronica. The celebration toasted the smooth spitter, whom we pointed at earlier this year via his single "Exhibit C", with Jigga tossing out acclaim for the "wizard" before formally announcing Electronica's signing to his Roc Nation label. Electronica then took to the stage for a quick performance, which you can see below.
While it's too soon to say when the rapper will release his Roc Nation debut, some new tracks have popped up to get us all hyped for his first full-length offering. Fittingly, a track titled "The Announcement" has appeared online, which finds the spitter sharing the spotlight with an old John F. Kennedy speech (listen below). Another new cut, "Shiny Suit Theory," jazzes things up via a tight vibraphone sample while Electronica hold his own against boss Jay-Z. You can grab that one, which also features Charlotte Gainsbourg and the-Dream, here, courtesy of 2 Dope Boyz.
We'll be keeping our ears to the ground for further developments, for sure.
