After first learning about JAY-Z's move into the legal cannabis market last year, the rap mogul has announced his first marijuana brand.
Titled Monogram, the line launched a new website and Instagram today, with the product being the first after JAY-Z stepped up as the Chief Brand Strategist of the California-based cannabis company Caliva.
So far, though, details about specific strains and products have yet to be revealed. It's also unclear when Monogram products will be available to purchase.
"With its careful strain selection, meticulous cultivation practices and uncompromising quality, Monogram seeks to redefine what cannabis means to consumers today," stated a press release.
Monogram comes as part of a multi-year deal with Caliva, with JAY-Z to help lead creative decisions, outreach efforts and strategy, in addition to focusing on the social justice issues surrounding marijuana legalization.
"Anything I do, I want to do correctly and at the highest level," JAY-Z said in a statement last year. "With all the potential in the cannabis industry, Caliva's expertise and ethos make them the best partners for this endeavor. We want to create something amazing, have fun in the process, do good and bring people along the way."
