Sure to be a classic amongst those who like their music obscure and ethnic-sounding, the JEFZLOTL blend country folk with lyrical nonsense and Beatles-esque trippiness. While I remain unsure whether a solid story lies within this record, there is certainly a large degree of drama and comedy spewing out from the speakers that is reminiscent of awkward early '80s television commercial music. Think Spumante Bambino with a lounge singer doing honky-tonk bluegrass in Beirut and you might get the idea. Whether they are being serious or not is not the issue, its the elephantiasis-sized balls this group has in putting money into this project that is the true appeal here.
