Vancouver rock duo Japandroids recently announced the much-anticipated follow-up to 2009's Post-Nothing, which is promisingly titled Celebration Rock. We also got a listen to the lead single "The House That Heaven Built," and now you can check out the B-side to that track, a cover of Nick Cave's 1992 tune "Jack the Ripper."
As to be expected, the duo spruce up the original a bit by injecting it with some grittier guitar and pounding drums. Check it out for yourself below.
The "The House That Heaven Built"/"Jack the Ripper" seven-inch is due out May 15 via Polyvinyl, who will also release Celebration Rock on June 5.
As previously reported, Japandroids have a pile of North American tour dates coming up and you can see the full list here.
