Huckleberry Friends

Imagine your three little sisters had way cooler record collections than you. Now imagine they had the guts to turn that taste into a killer band. Vashti Bunyan and Kim Gordon would be so proud. With an open approach to instrumentation and song construction the Friends demonstrated massive potential. The drum set was played standing up, all tribal tom beats with an authentic cowbell (right off a fucking cow’s neck!) instead of cymbals. There was much instrument switching, all taking turns at beats, keys, bass and guitar while contributing to haunting group harmonies. Makes Magneta Lane look even more foolish than they made themselves look.
