Arc Music has maintained a roots/traditional approach to the world’s musical heritage. Percussionist/producer Hossam Ramzy (Peter Gabriel, Page & Plant, the Gypsy Kings) has produced a music series displaying authentic culture from various North African traditions. Classical Egyptian Dance, as the title suggests, is rhythm-heavy and easy to imagine choreographed for a dancer. The quartertone accordion and bamboo flutes add tight Middle Eastern harmonies overtop Ramsy's ever-present drums and the album's old world charm isn't compromised at all by the addition of modern instruments like keyboards and bass.
