Here's the First Look at Beyoncé as Nala in the 'The Lion King'

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jun 4, 2019

The Lion King is returning to theatres as a Jon Favreau-helmed CGI live-action remake, and while the first trailer introduced us to a young Simba, the latest clip to be unveiled gives us a better look at Beyoncé's Nala.

The new snippet sees Nala pleading with grown-up Simba (voiced by Donald Glover) to "come home" and take his rightful place as the king of Pride Rock.

At the end of the 30-second clip, we get some comic relief from Timon and Pumbaa, voiced by Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen, respectively.

Other notable names in the cast include James Earl Jones (reprising his original role as Mufasa), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar), John Oliver  Zazu), Eric André (Azizi) and Keegan-Michael Key (Kamari).

The Lion King is in theatres July 19.
