Marking its 10th edition this year, OBEY Convention has revealed the initial lineup of its 2017 edition.
The event will take place from May 25 to 28 at various venus throughout Halifax. And playing OBEY X this year will so far be new age legend Laraaji, Indonesian doom-folk duo Senyawa, Philadelphia hip-hop act Moor Mother and industrial NYC thrash-metal unit Uniform, along with Pelada and FET.NAT.
A press release reads, "This year marks the 10th anniversary of the beloved East Coast institution. But rather than pausing to look back fondly at a decade of exploration, OBEY X promises to continue pushing forward, pursuing the confounding values of intensity, inclusion, confrontation, transcendence, accessibility, innovation, education and auditory onslaught on which it is founded."
Along with the musical lineup, OBEY X will bring back the visual art component Art in Fest, as well as the Everyseeker Symposium lecture series.
Early bird tickets are on sale now until March 28, when a second wave of artists will be announced. You can get more ticket info here.
