Gorguts

And Then Comes Lividity/Demo Anthology

BY Greg PrattPublished Oct 1, 2003

Without a doubt one of Canada's greatest metal bands, Gorguts seem to be laying low after the loss of their incredible drummer, Steve MacDonald, last year. In the meantime, we have this collection of demo material to chew contentedly on. Like all demo collections, it depends on the listener's love of the band and tolerance for shittier sounding versions of songs they've already heard. This one is fun as it chronologically follows the band's history from their first demo in 1990 to their brilliant mid- to late ’90s era; also included is one live song. Lots of tunes for your buck, but best suited for serious fans only. Let's hope the band keeps it going for more mind-expanding albums in the future.
