This London, UK, and Quebec duo are modest descendants of the post-rock genre. Consisting of mainly guitar and drums, and seemingly guided by some sort of external religious metronome, they attempt to place an assortment of styles coming from other genres on top of their simple yet deceptive shoe-gazing sonatas. Great feats of humble efforts can be heard throughout, churning the syncopation factor gently upwards, which builds and builds upon itself until a small burst of sweet complimentary melodies come sprinkling out from a type of aural Cracker Jack box. However, the two possess enough discipline to know when to retreat to avoid misusing their powers. Their shifts into backwards-like jazz-folk environments are the most captivating ones, which is when you can almost swear that you can hear the musicians thinking aloud.
