As we told you last year, Wu-Tang Clan members Raekwon, Ghostface Killah and Method Man were working on a collaborative album, tentatively entitled The Wu-Massacre. Before it drops though, they need a little help from their Wu supporters.
Via a MySpace message, the trio revealed that they are currently looking for a name for their project and are soliciting suggestions via text message.
"We Need a Group Name!!!!!" the message reads. "Help us out! As you know Ghostface Killah, Method Man and Raekwon are teaming up for an album dropping very soon, but Meth, Rae & Ghost need a name 4 the group. Txt MethRaeGhost to 66937 to name the band!"
If Ghost and co. pick your name, you could appear in the album's liner notes. Of course, it's also a golden opportunity to become a part of Wu-Tang history.
The Wu-Massacre is projected for release on February 9 through Def Jam, with production by RZA and Mathematics. Judging from an initial leak, "Meth Vs. Chef Part 2," expect dusty, dark beats, ferocious verbal darts and in all likelihood, a few kung-fu samples.
Raekwon recently described The Wu-Massacre to HipHopDX as "basically a hip-hop album...[with] that classic Wu sound, of course." Fingers crossed that maybe this will actually happen.
