While we're eagerly anticipating the line-up for the third annual Sled Island festival, the promoters have announced a benefit to raise funds for this year's installment. Taking place on April 11 at the Royal Canadian Legion in downtown Calgary, the fundraiser will hopefully rally support and build excitement for the festivities.
In attendance for the event will be Fucked Up, who were a highlight at last year's fest when singer Pink Eyes was hospitalized after smashing a beer glass into his head. The band will be supported by openers Forbidden Dimension, Sharp Ends, the Sublinguals and the War Doves.
Wire's Colin Newman will also be there, which makes sense, since he's one of this year's curators. Sled Island will take place from June 24 to 27.
