Final Flash

This Montreal band had the distinction of opening M for Montreal and their meat 'n' potatoes pop rock had dashes of spice. It must've been tough facing down a room full of industry delegates and a small crowd of regular folk streaming into the Just for Laughs Cabaret stage, but Final Flash seemed more than comfortable. Their spacey, vaguely My Morning Jacket take on catchy rock'n'roll anthems was bolstered by their drive to throw down, and their 25-minute set was met warmly.
