The Electric Hellfire Club are standard issue goth rock that schizophrenically shifts to glam and metal with perhaps too high and smooth a resolution in sound production, thus making them the perfect house band for any club where black garments are the required uniform. At times, they sound like hokey, cartoon-ish parodies of Glenn Danzig's classical instrumentals, but when the rock factor sets in one can see them selling out Swedish black metal venues in a matter of minutes. The black metal element is a little on the synthetic side though, more like having used cheap hardware store spray paint instead of the real deal. Shades of Ministry abound, and the political speech background samples give off that perfect pseudo-intellectual vibe, the kind that is sufficient enough to impress that wannabe you've been pining for at that nightclub.
